Mon Jin Lau

Had a Christmas Eve dinner here with my family last night. It was MY first time (others in my family had been before) and I will definitely be back! The service was great, our waitress was excellent…very helpful and knowledgeable when we had some questions. The food came out quickly and was DELICIOUS. Everything was so fresh, flavorful, vibrant and portions were perfect. I’ll be back soon!

Food and drinks are spectacular! I love their sushi. Atmosphere is perfect. Very friendly staff. My favorite restaurant in the area!

I don’t live in the area, but every time I’m in town, I make sure to eat at this wonderful restaurant! On my most recent visit, I had just missed the cutoff for takeout orders by a few minutes, but Maryann went above and beyond and kindly took my order. The food—no surprise—was absolutely outstanding, just as it always is. This is hands-down my favorite place to eat in metro Detroit. The ambience is perfect, the service is consistently warm and attentive, and the food… I honestly don’t have words to describe how incredible it is. When dining in, the drinks are also top tier. The Hawaiian drink with tequila is insanely delicious! I cannot say enough great things about this restaurant and its amazing staff. A true gem! So wish I would have written down the name of our server from our visit on Thursday; she deserves all the good things in life with how incredible she was!!!

Mon Jin Lau in the USA is a highly favored restaurant, especially among foodies. My husband and I had a couple’s date there with one of his friends. I really liked the atmosphere — it’s unique, not too traditional nor too modern, but cozy with a harmonious blend of contemporary art reflecting both Chinese and American cultures. The food is quite delicious; the sashimi sushi is incredibly fresh, and the tuna is rich and meaty. My Szechwan crispy beef was a little bit salty to me, I wish there was a bowl of rice or noodle with it will balance the flavor better. If you’re looking for a great spot for a romantic date, this would be my top choice. It was just an odd that the server at the time seems a little bit impatient to us… In general, I will definitely come back here with my husband!

Excellent food and service. RIMON was a great server. Top notch. They made me one of the best Toykeo Teas ever. Me ad the family lived it.

Atmosphere is amazing, love the decor and it was clean and cool. Food was excellent, generous portions and really good - everyone loved the dish they got. But this was the WORST service experience I've ever had at a restaurant. Kaitlyn was our server and we were a group of 8 and everyone felt uncomfortable at the table for the level of service, or lack thereof, that she provided. Unfortunately they have a mandatory 20% charge for groups of 6+ so we ended up paying for the sub-par service. The manager was kind and offered a discount if we come back, but truly disappointing to have been served that way. Would go back for the food.
